The National Water Commission released the
Australian environmental water management report 2010 on Monday. The report presents a comprehensive picture of Australia's current environmental water management arrangements, providing a baseline of current jurisdictional arrangements to support more transparent and accountable environmental outcomes.
We are proud to have been involved in the development of this report with the NWC. Coming from an applied knowledge base of establishing environmental flow requirements, we worked with Commission staff to establish a common definition of environmental water and a framework that seeks to align jurisdictonal approaches. We're keen to see how this informs improvements to environmental water reporting and management over the next two years.
